The first grade students used air dry clay to create fish dishes. They formed their clay in the shape of a fish then added texture to the clay using different rollers. They then rolled their extra clay like a snake and formed a circle adding it to the bottom of their fish for a stand.

The first grade students learned about cool and warm colors. They then chose either cool or warm colors to paint a striped background. Next, they painted three different size triangle trees in the opposite color scheme of the background. These trees were then glued down to the background making sure to overlap them. Using a q-tip and white paint they added snow.
The 2nd grade students learned how to draw faces to proportion. They then drew portraits of their family using the techniques they learned to draw their families. They painted their family portraits using watercolors.
The first grade students drew the shape of a corn stalk and created a grid using pencil on it. They then used black crayon to draw kernels in each square of their grid. Using warm colors they painted their kernels. They then used cool colors to paint the back ground.
The 5th grade students learned about the Day of the Dead in Spanish class with Senorita Hunn. The students created a Day of the Dead altar for a relative. The altars were made in Spanish and Art class. The altars included candles (battery operated), tissue paper flowers the students made, sugar skulls, and items that they brought from home that represented their relatives. The students also created sugar skulls out of clay and decorated them with sharpie.
4th grade students learned about the Day of the Dead in Spanish class with Senorita Hunn_. Students wrote their name in cursive on the seam of a folded piece of paper. They then cut their name out being careful not to cut the seam of the paper. When they opened the paper up they had what resembled a rib cage made out of their name. They added a skull and arm and hand bones. They then decorated their skeletons giving them hats, jewelry, and flowers.
The 6th grade students learned about the color wheel and monochromatic colors. They had to create a color wheel with the primary and secondary colors represented. In each of the 6 sections they had to use the tints, tones, and shades of a single hue. The students chose the theme of their color wheel. |
